Hey, I’m Ana Ragazzi!
Hi there! I’m a Brazilian living in Scotland with my husband, where we came looking for a quieter and more meaningful life. I fell in love with the country’s natural beauty, its history, and that magical atmosphere, misty mornings, old castles, and a calm that feels like stepping right into the pages of a novel.
My biggest dream is to one day have a little cottage in the middle of the Highlands. While that hasn’t come true just yet, welcome to Messy but Make It Cute, my little corner of the internet where true crime meets cute vibes and slightly questionable reading habits.
Here, I dive into all things, mystery, crime, thriller, and horror, with a particular love for unreliable narrators, jaw-dropping twists, and characters I probably shouldn’t trust (but I do anyway). If the plot is spiralling and someone’s lying, consider me hooked.
I share my love for page-turner reads, plot twists that won’t let me sleep, and a growing collection of opinions on fictional crimes. And if the story happens to be set in Scotland, even better, nothing makes a mystery hit quite like a moody, foggy landscape, am I right?
So whether you’re here for book recommendations, unhinged protagonists, or just to indulge in the dark side with a dash of aesthetic, make yourself at home. Things might get messy, but they’ll always be cute.

About the Blog
This blog started as my way of fighting the never-ending cycle of work, eat, scroll, sleep, repeat. It’s a cute (and slightly desperate) attempt to stay sane by talking about the things I love, and maybe finding people who love them too.
Here is where I explore my love for the dark, the twisty, and the psychologically complex. You’ll find book reviews focused on crime, thriller, and horror, along with deep dives, plot twist breakdowns, and endings that invite interpretation, because sometimes, dissecting the story is half the fun.
Beyond books, you’ll also find recommendations for true crime podcasts, TV shows, and films that explore similar themes, from high-stakes investigations to quiet psychological unravellings. I’m especially fascinated by the human mind, the motivations behind the madness, and the fine line between victim and villain.
If you’re drawn to secrets, suspense, and stories that mess with your head in the best way, you’ll feel right at home here. So grab your drink of choice, make yourself comfy, and let’s embrace the mess together.
